![]() ![]() I've owned several streaming devices before and prior to purchasing the Fire was skeptical as to whether I'd use any of the same apps I already have on my Smart TV (youtube, streaming local network videos etc) but for the above reasons I've found myself using it exclusively.įor the money it's great value and at the very least a simple solution for watching Twitch or streaming content illegally through Kodi if you don't have a file server at home. For example (and relevant to this thread) the Twitch application which can be added to the Smart TV is absolutely crap, stops working completely for weeks on end when the dev's have to reprogram it when Twitch change server urls etc and when it does work (atm mine has no sound) lacks basic functionalities such as being able to view chat. The Fire has much more scope for expansion as there is a huge library of official and unofficial apps whereas the Smart TV is mostly limited to crappy Samsung approved ones. Using the Smart TV' to play larger (2gb+) video files off the NAS/unRAID server causes occasional stutter in both audio and video whereas the Fire streams perfectly. The Fire is noticeably quicker at navigating through menus, loading/switching between applications and loading videos both offline or online. The main differences between the Amazon Firestick and the Smart TV's built in functions are as follows: I've never had experience with any other Smart TV's so I have no basis of comparison with other manufactures but I have used the Samsung extensively over the last 2 years, always with the latest firmware. My setup is Netgear NAS server, a 20tb unRAID os server, a blu ray player (dusty and hasn't been used in 5 years) going through a Samsung 8000 series Smart TV. The problem with relying on self downloaded content is you have to preempt what you're going to watch, netflix/amazon/kodi/etc presents you with instant choices and categories. srt to my-mp4box and then press the mux button ![]() sup file in subtitle edit and fix the text for each timecode entry, just retype whats shown in the top preview box, then press oK, then you can clean up the timecode for each subtitle after you have generated the audio peak file for the video the subtitles are to be displayed in Īfter you have finished editing the subtitles save them as a. = if you already have subtitle file and a mp4 : If your ripping a blu-ray or don't already have a. Most tv's will auto select the first subtitle track, so its just like watching a blu-ray I have never worked in linux and dont know how to. Re: / Thanks I took a look at that originally but I dont follow it. Just need a smart tv, a NAS server and a blu-ray player for when a drive dies in your NAS server, and you able to stream to every tv in your house, need 12 core NAS server for 6 devices at the same time with 5800 bitrate, need a 10Mbps line, not 2Mbps like the tv adverts Board index Online resources Available plugins Print view Next topic Previous topic /Justin. 21:38:23,265 WARN Couldn't send event message for subscription f986de29-07c4-45ad-b7b6-3a51950e8e1d, will keep trying until subscription expiresĬode: 20:52:19,426 WARN Failed to retrieve online item information for rtmp:///justintv6live-live playpath=stream_live_user_dreamhacksc2 swfUrl= (Windows NT 6.1 WOW64 rv:6.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.Fuck amazon, netflix and sky, kodi is bollox too Java.io.IOException: .: Unknown video file type.Īt .(FeedUpdaterThread.java:292)Īt .(FeedUpdaterThread.java:209)Īt .(FeedUpdaterThread.java:102)Ĭaused by: .: Unknown video file type.Īt .FFmpegMetadataRetriever.validateMandatoryMetadata(FFmpegMetadataRetriever.java:453)Īt .FFmpegMetadataRetriever.retrieveMetadata(FFmpegMetadataRetriever.java:94)Īt .FFmpegMetadataRetriever.retrieveOnlineMetadata(FFmpegMetadataRetriever.java:132)Īt .(FeedUpdaterThread.java:269)Ĭode: 13:14:20,153 DEBUG Invoking FFMPEG to retrieve media information for file: rtmp://199.9.255.178/app playpath=jtv_WADoYIh1n5yIsI4H swfUrl= (Windows NT 6.1 WOW64 rv:6.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0&channel=tsm_dyrus swfVfy=1 jtv=1bd731fc54e9cbd0f336e3a8a1d312a9d6c46b2a: live=1. ![]() Code: 03:21:46,063 WARN Failed to retrieve online item information for rtmp://199.9.255.240/app playpath=jtv_$ ![]()
